Vernon R. Frederick, Sr., 77, of Lower Macungie Township, died in his home Nov. 9, 2015. He was the husband of Irene J. (Smith) Frederick and recently celebrated 57 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles Wilson, Jr. and Mildred E. (Stettler) Frederick.

He was employed at Mack Trucks for 30 years until retiring.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Blue Church, Coopersburg, where he was vice president and board member of the cemetery association.

He was a member of the Old Time Plow Boys, Kutztown, and a volunteer firefighter and past officer for the Upper Milford Western District Fire Company.

He was a local Pennsylvania Dutch instructor.

He is survived by his wife; children, Vernon R., Jr. and his wife, Mary Jo, Randy G. and his wife, Karen D., Dianna and her husband Barry Knauss; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter and a sister, Florence Brey.
