Steve Farina

Steve Farina, 67, of Emmaus, died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones at home Nov. 12, 2015. He was the husband of Rosanne (Groller) Farina. They were married 35 years this past September. Born in Reading, he was the son of Irma (Cardoselli) Farina and the late Paul Farina.

He graduated from Mount Penn High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Albright College and a master’s degree from Rutgers University.

He worked as a licensed clinical social worker at the Allentown State Hospital for 34 years while maintaining a private practice for marriage and family counseling for 25 years.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus. He was a third degree Knight of Columbus Council 528, Allentown and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Assembly 931, Bethlehem.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, with a particular fondness of cruise vacations. He had a profound affection for his beloved dogs.

He is survived by his wife; mother; daughter, Julianna and her husband John W. Brixius III, of Palmerton; son, Paul A., at home; sisters, Theresa Baver, of Coplay, Lisa Wolfe, of Allentown and Diane McPeek, of Sinking Spring; uncles, Frank, of Reading, Duilio Cardoselli, of Anzio, Italy; aunt, Stefania Cardoselli, of Anzio, Italy; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to the church.
