Charles N. Bergstresser

Charles N. Bergstresser, 87, of Lower Macungie Township, died Nov. 14, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Twilajean E. (Marsteller), with whom he was married 61 years. Born in Lower Macungie Township, he was the son of the late Francis N. and Violet N. (Baumer) Bergstresser.

He was a graduate of Allen High School and Allentown Business College.

He was a Korean War veteran, served in the U.S. Army 24th Infantry Division.

He was employed at the Macungie Bank, GAC Finance, Stuyvasant Life Ins., Bank of America, retiring from Chrysler First Financial in March 1990.

He was an active member of Western Salisbury Lutheran Church, serving as the Lutheran treasurer from 1968 to 2011.

He enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Charlene D. and Robin M. Koch, of Slatington; daughter-in-law, Jodie Kowalick; grandchildren, Tanya and her husband Steve Burrows, Adam, Drew and his wife Catie and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Ian and Megan Burrows; brother, John and his wife Marlene. He was predeceased by a son, David F.

Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America or to Western Salisbury Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Nov. 18 in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
