Safiya Franklin, 26, of Allentown, was charged with alleged forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property after an incident 9:45 a.m. Oct. 6. Franklin was a home care worker for an 84-year-old resident in the 2200 block of Lehigh Parkway. Tanya Vargas, 34, of Allentown, was charged with alleged forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property and Harold Melendez, 47, of Allentown, was charged with alleged forgery and criminal attempt at theft by deception. The victim’s family was alerted by TD Bank for a check made out to Melendez for $2,500. A printout from the bank verified two checks totaling $500 were allegedly written to and cashed by Franklin and two checks to Vargas totaling $2,700. The family verified the victim did not write the checks. Charges have been filed and warrants have been issued.

Luis Quinones, 29, of Allentown, was stopped in his vehicle in the 1600 block of Broadway 6:28 p.m. Oct. 17 for an expired inspection. Police determined Quinones was wanted on an active warrant by the Sarasota Sheriffs Department in Florida. Quinones was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Dontaie Anderson, 37, of Allentown, was stopped in his vehicle in the 1600 block of Broadway 10:50 a.m. Oct. 18 for an expired inspection. Police determined Anderson was wanted on an active warrant by Chesterfield County, Va. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

A 15-year-old female was charged with harassment, simple assault and terroristic threats 6:50 p.m. Oct. 18 in the 3000 block of Sussex Road. The female allegedly kicked, hit and bit her parents. She was taken to St. Luke’s University Health Network for an evaluation and will be referred to juvenile court for the charges.

Luis Rescigno, 52, no known address, was charged with public drunkenness 11:27 p.m. Oct. 19. Rescigno was found allegedly intoxicated and walking along the roadway and through yards in the area. He was taken to Central Booking. Police determined Rescigno had other summary warrants.

A resident in the 1700 block of Hamilton Avenue reported 3:10 p.m. Oct. 20 a license plate had been removed from a vehicle parked on the property.

An employee at Cedar Crest Emergicenter, 1101 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., reported 1:34 a.m. Oct. 21 leaving work following a shift to find a catalytic converter had been cut out of the vehicle.

Eugene Brey, 42, of Salisbury, was charged with alleged possession of drug paraphernalia 12:16 p.m. Oct. 21. The paraphernalia was found following a search by the Pennsylvania Game Commission on another matter.

A resident in the 700 block of Yorkshire Road reported 5:05 a.m. Oct. 21 the theft of a vehicle from the property. The vehicle was last seen on the property 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20. The vehicle had been unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle was recovered the same day in Allentown by Allentown police with the car running and the door open.

Christina Detweiler, 26, of Salisbury, was charged with simple assault and harassment following the alleged assault of a 48-year-old victim.

A Salisbury resident was issued a citation for a burning violation 6:13 p.m. Oct. 22. Police were alerted to a large amount of smoke in the 2300 block of Filbert Street where the resident was found allegedly burning construction materials, plumbing fixtures and plywood.
