Kathleen “Kay” S. Mertz, 76, of Fullerton, died Oct. 13, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus. She was the wife of Otto P. Mertz Jr. for 56 years.

Born in Stouchsburg, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Lillian (Boyer) Putt.

She was a 1957 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School.

She was in the U.S. Air Force.

She was a billing clerk for Tarkett, Whitehall, for 43 years until she retired in 2001.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

She was a member of the Fullerton American Legion Post 367 auxiliary, the Donald S. Reinert VFW Post 7293 auxiliary and the Jones-Quigg American Legion Post 739 auxiliary, all of Whitehall.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Joanne Osterman of Cantonsville, Md.; and nieces and nephews and their families.
