Ethelmae H. Brophy, 74, of Upper Macungie Township, died Sept. 23, 2015, at Cornerstone Living in Weisenberg Township. She was the longtime companion of Richard C. Johnson and the wife of the late C.K. Michael Brophy. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Grover G. and Elsie (Haas) Gerhart.

She was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1958, where she initiated the reunion lunches for her class that continue today.

She operated a childcare service, having cared for 37 children over the course of her career.

She is survived by her companion; children, Shaun, of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary and his wife Natalia, of Bethlehem, and Kyle, of Collingdale; sisters, Ferne Queen and Jean Wilson; brother, Bruce Gerhart; grandchildren, Sasha, Aiden and Roman. She was predeceased by brothers, Bennett, Rodney, Richard, Donald and Dale.
