James “Jessie” T.J. Garger Sr., 73, of Bath, died Sept. 22, 2015, at his home. He was the husband of Helen (Hirschman) Garger for 50 years.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lousie (Weider) Garger.
He was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He worked in the cindering plant for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 19 years until he retired in 1984. He then was a part-time welder for various businesses in the Lehigh Valley.
He was involved with the POW/MIA Motorcycle Club, Palmerton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James T.J. Jr. and his wife Terry Lee of Walnutport and Mark D. of Whitehall; a daughter, Lisa M. her husband Jeffrey Burd of Allentown; a grandson, Griffith; a brother, Edward of New Mexico; and a sister, Matilda of Coplay.
He was predeceased by son, Stephen N. Garger.
Arrangements were made by Schisler Funeral Home Inc., Northampton.
