Carl W. Shoemaker, 83, of Wescosville, died Sept. 15, 2015, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Marjorie R. (Arndt) Shoemaker. They were married 64 years. Born in Longswamp, he was the son of the late Harry and Vesta (Gerhart) Shoemaker.

He was a member of Longswamp U.C.C.

He worked at the Emmaus Foundry before retiring. Prior he worked as a baker for Shoemaker Bakery.

He was a member of the Emmaus Fire Company, Longswamp Lions Club and superintendent at Longswamp U.C.C.

He is survived by his wife; son, Lee C. and his wife Marilyn, of Wescosville; daughters, Sally Lou and her husband Keith Hosfeld, of Wescosville and Rev. Lynn Wetzel, of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
