Elaine E. Kline

Elaine E. “Kip” Kline, 83, of Allentown, lost her battle with lung cancer Aug. 28, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. Sr. and Cora E. Kline.

She was on both the Allentown Rockettes fast pitch softball and basketball teams from 1949 to 1951 and shortly after she served as a Navy WAVE in Europe toward the end of the Korean War.

She worked at Western Electric before retiring.

She loved watching the Eagles and Phillies and also enjoyed attending many Pine’s Dinner Theatre and DeSales University Act 1 productions with friends and family.

She was an avid bowler, winning many championships in her younger years, and was a member of the Golden Agers Club Bowling League as well as a member of the American Legion Post 367, Fullerton.

She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church.

She is survived by a brother, Arthur, Jr. and his wife Linda; nieces, Lisa and her husband Tom Eastman; Tammy; Tracy Payne-Trommater; nephews, Konrad, Rick, Donald Newhard and his wife Pam Hawk; Doug Newhard and his wife Carol; Joseph Newhard, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jane; close friend, Gladys Koder; many great nephews; a great niece and a great-great-nephew. She was predeceased by a brother Stanley; sisters, Mary Newhard and Dorothy Trommater; brothers-in-law, Joe Newhard and Gene Trommater; niece, Elaine Newhard and nephew, Richard Trommater.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to American Family Services, 1025 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, 18052.

Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
