Luther F. Walck, 88, of Northampton, died Sept. 3, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Betty Lou (Hess) for 68 years.

Born in East Weissport, he was a son of the late Frederick L. and Lillian Mae (Zellers) Walck.

He was a seaman 1/C in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a lapel cutter and shaper for the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, for more than 40 years until he retired in 1987. He was a clerk at the former Nestor’s Sporting Goods Store, Whitehall, for 14 years.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Howertown. He was a life member of the Petersville Rod & Gun Club, the Lappawinzo Fish and Game Association and the Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, where he helped Dreams Come True children to learn about fishing. He was a life member of the Laurel Fire Company, Cementon; Alliance Fire Company, Northampton; and Allen Township Ambulance Corps. He was a member of the Fireman’s Association of the Lehigh Valley and of American Legion Post 353, Northampton. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop 35, St. John’s UCC, Howertown, and former assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 26, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northampton. He was a life member of the Raccoon Club, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Bonnie L. Rehatchek and her companion Donald Paly of Catasauqua and Beth L. and her husband Raymond Gerstenberg of Northampton; a sister; Bernice and her husband Nevin Lilly of East Allen Township; eight grandchildren, Thomas II and his wife Vanessa, Jodie, wife of Erin, Matthew, Nicole, Melanie, Chad and his wife Kristie, Brandy and Erica; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Morgan, Colyn, Alyssa and Kassia.

He was predeceased by a son, Terry K. Walck.
