Douglas D. Lindenmuth, 80, of Catasauqua, died Sept. 5, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Elsie (Thomas) Lindenmuth for 58 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Paul A. Lindenmuth and Wilhelmine (McKittrick) Lindenmuth.
He was a 1953 graduate of Catasauqua High School and a 1958 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
He taught mathematics at Northampton High School for five years and at Parkland High School for 30 years, before he retired in 1993. At Parkland, he was a golf coach for 27 years. He was a PIAA college and high school basketball referee for 22 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Duane T. and his wife Robin of Slatington; two daughters, Lisa J. and her husband Stephan Suchower of Malvern and Denise L. of Ambler; a brother, Paul A. Lindenmuth; four grandchildren, Paula and her husband Brett Johnson and Marisa, Becca S. and Jenna Suchower.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
