Donald L. Xander

Donald L. “Don” Xander, 83, of Lower Macungie Township, died Aug. 31, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, in the presence of his family. He was the husband of Dolores J. (DeLong) Xander for 64 years. Born in Wescosville, he was a son of the late Earl L. and Irene H. (Lambert) Xander.

A graduate of Emmaus High School, he served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and earned the rank of corporal.

Prior to retiring in 1995, he was a supervisor for UGI Corporation for 39 years and a member of IBEW.

He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescosville and a life member of Wescosville Fire Co.

He loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Phillies and the Iron Pigs.

He is survived by his wife; sons, David L. and his wife, Carol A., of Allentown, Daniel L. and his wife, Karla K., of Claussville; daughters, Danette J. and her husband Rick Woodward, of Laconia N.H., Doreen J. and her husband Don Keyser, of Macungie; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth C.
