Good Cause: Good Shepherd ‘Celebrity Bartender’ event

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network will host a “Celebrity Bartender” event, 4:30 - 8 p.m. Sept. 17, at Chickie’s & Pete’s, 701 Hamilton St., Allentown. The event is open to the public.

Proceeds benefit Good Shepherd Pediatrics, which provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for children with autism, developmental delays or physical disabilities, or those who are recovering from accidents, injuries or illnesses.

Good Shepherd “celebrity” bartenders will serve drinks, including their own signature cocktail, at Good Shepherd’s private bar. Gratuities will be donated to Good Shepherd.

By mentioning Good Shepherd, Chickie’s & Pete’s will donate 5 percent of patrons’ food bill to Good Shepherd and 5 percent to Phantom’s Charities. Gift basket raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

The Celebrity Bartender Event kicks off Good Shepherd’s annual Golf & Tennis Invitational fund raiser, Sept. 21.

Good Shepherd Pediatrics is home to the only board-certified developmental pediatrician in the region and the only pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. In addition, Good Shepherd operates the only inpatient rehabilitation unit for children in the greater Lehigh Valley.

Univest donates to CMS: Univest Bank and Trust Co. recently presented Community Music School with a check for $2,500 through the Lehigh Valley IronPigs “Double Plays Pay” sponsorship, which provided a $25 donation to CMS each time the IronPigs made a double play.

Univest Bank and Trust Co. has participated in the IronPigs “Double Play Pay” sponsorship since 2009 helping a different nonprofit each year, including the Lehigh Valley Zoo, Boys & Girls Club of Allentown, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley and Dream Come True.

LCCC bowling party: Lehigh Carbon Community College’s (LCCC) Alumni Association has partnered with Linda Krisko Financial Products to hold a bowling party 7 - 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at Revolutions in Saucon Valley.

Net proceeds from Bowl-n-Bites goes to LCCC’s Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Cost includes two hours of bowling, shoes, food, non-alcoholic beverages, give-a-ways and prizes. Only 100 tickets will be sold.
