Floyd C. Schmoyer

Floyd C. Schmoyer, 87, of Emmaus, died Aug. 1, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Doris Jane (DeLong) Schmoyer. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Sarah L. (Fink) Schmoyer.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.

He owned and operated Schmoyer's Barber Shop for 63 years, retiring April 1, 2000.

He was an active member of St. John's U.C.C., serving as a member of consistory, choir member and director, Sunday School teacher and St. John's Men's Quartet.

He also created and directed the All Faiths Choir and was the former president of Northwood Cemetery.

He is survived by daughters, Myra and her husband Dennis Sell, Lora and her husband David Lesak, and Bonnie and her husband Donald Keck; a brother, Merritt, of Selinsgrove; a sister, Arlene Moyer, of Allentown; six grandchildren, Marla Sell, Jonathan Keck, Dr. Erin Keck Donohue, Lyndie Keck, Dr. Jana Lesak Houser and Scott Lesak; two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's U.C.C. memorial fund.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 5 at St. John's U.C.C., 139 N. 4th St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment with full military honors will follow in Northwood Cemetery.
