Eleven retirees, having worked a total of 335 years, were presented with plaques of recognition at the May 13 meeting of the Northwestern Lehigh School Board.
They were honored with words such as dedication, considering the needs of all students, expertise, compassion, caring and insight.
Catherine Schwoyer, an instructional assistant for 17 years, was unable to attend the presentation.
Schwoyer went above and beyond for all students, presenter Aileen Yadush said.
Bus driver Lucy Gressley was also unable to attend.
She met the needs of each student to ensure the safety of all, said presenter Arthur Oakes of Gressley.
Superintendent Dr. Mary Anne Wright said the administration knows what each has contributed and she thanked them for their dedication.
Board member Joseph Reiter said his sons knew many of the teachers and they are remembered.
Glenn Frey: He saw the potential of every student to achieve. I was here for 12 years as a student and 36 as a teacher. That's half a century. His presenter was Aileen Yadush.
