Thomas E. Werkheiser, Sr., 80, of Salisbury Township, died July 14, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Joan G. (Fenstermaker) Werkheiser with whom he would have celebrated 61 years of marriage this September. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Erich) Werkheiser.

He was an upholsterer for the former Greystone Upholstering Company and various other upholstery companies in the Lehigh Valley for 57 years, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown and the New Temple Lodge #720.

He was a member of the Seabee's Reserves and trained on the USS Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife; son, Thomas, Jr. and his wife Ilona, of Schnecksville; daughter, Suzanne Nyari, of Salisbury Township; sisters, Sandy and her husband Donald Hoffman, of Schnecksville, June and her husband William Ruth, of The Villages, Fla.; granddaughter, Emily Anderson.

Contributions may be made in his name to the church, 201 E. Juniata St., 18103.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
