Sara Jane Margraf
Sara "Sally" Jane (Staudenmeier) Margraf, 78, of Lower Mac-ungie Township, died June 28, 2015, in her residence. She was the wife of Donald Costello Margraf. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in November. Born in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late Sara Eleanor (Daley) and Judge Charles W. Staudenmeier.
She was a graduate of Immaculata University and attended both Cedar Crest College and Kutztown University.
She was a music and English teacher at The Swain School, Allentown for 15 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Allentown. She was a former member of Assumption BVM, Colesville, where she was a member of the finance committee.
She was a former member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Immaculata Alumni Association, Catholic Daughters of America, catechism teacher at St. John of Rochester in Pittsford, N.Y., and Piano Music Teachers Association of Rochester, N.Y.
She was active with the community at Legacy Oaks at Lehigh Valley and helped to start the pinochle club. She was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Donald Charles and his wife Elizabeth, of Springfield, Va., Douglas Owen and his wife Diane, of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Deborah Marie and her husband Mark Fleming, of Macungie; grandsons, Andrew and Collin Fleming and Ryan ; brothers, Charles W. Staudenmeier, Jr., of Hershey, Dr. James Joseph Staudenmeier and his wife Dorothy, of Conyngham; sister, Margaret Whalen, of Downingtown.
