C. Jerry Rice, 86, of Macungie, died June 30, 2015, at home. He was the husband of Anna L. (Kroninger) Rice. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in November. Born in Detroit, he was a son of the late Edward and Edith (Booth) Rice.
He graduated from Cheltenham High School and Temple University, was a member of Beta Alpha Psi accounting fraternity and went on to work in the accounting department at Bethlehem Steel for 28 years.
He was very passionate about people and loved his Lord Jesus. He was known as Mr. Fix-it to his grandchildren and his favorite saying"Be a lifesaver to someone today"was heard by many as he handed out Life Saver candies.
He was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife; son, Dr. Scott A. and his wife Ruth A., of Allentown; brother, Thomas, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Kristen, Sarah and Nathaniel. He was predeceased by a daughter Sheryl in 1997.
