Kareha appointed new ed foundation executive director

The Parkland School District Education Foundation Board of Directors has appointed Kate (Johnson) Kareha as executive director.

Kareha, a 2003 graduate of the district, studied journalism/multi-media arts and public relations and advertising at Duquesne University.

Kareha, who has a passion and enthusiasm for the district and community, recently moved back to the area after spending much of her career in Philadelphia.

There she served as a program and events manager for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and a special events manager in the University of the Arts Development Office.

"Kate's background, skills and overall personality will complement the Parkland Foundation very well," Buddy Lesavoy, president of the Parkland Education Foundation said. "She is extremely knowledgeable and possesses strong communication skills. We look forward to her leadership."
