Alan K. Greiss, 82, of Whitehall and formerly of Slatington, died June 9, 2015, in his home. He was the husband of Priscilla A. (Moore) Greiss for 58 years.

Born in Hereford Township, he was a son of the late LeRoy L. and Kathryn J. (Christman) Greiss.

He was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in dairy science.

He was a farmer in Washington Township for 57 years until he retired in 2013. He was a loan officer at the Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit Service, AGWAY and the State Hospital farm system, Northampton County.

He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where he was a consistory member for two terms.

He was a founding board member of the Lehigh County Land Preservation, the Lehigh County Extension Board, the Lehigh County Farm Bureau and the Schnecksville Grange 1684.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Karen D. and her husband Mark Griffith of Allentown, Sharon E. and her husband Andrew Holko of Orefield, Deborah A. and her husband Timothy Geiger of Schnecksville and Keith A. and his wife Sandra of Carlisle; three siblings, Lois Graver of Schwenksville, Lana Kane of Conestoga and Arlo Greiss of Warrington; 11 grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Kristen, Sarah, Rebecca, Hannah, Lillie, Olivia, Jonas, Connor and Noah; and twin great-granddaughters expected later this month.
