Richard Paul Kress-ler, 80, of Allentown, formerly of Macungie, died May 8, 2015, at home. Born in Cementon, he was the son of the late Paul Thomas Kressler and the late Mildred (Peiffer) Kressler and stepson of the late Hilda (Buchman) Kressler.
He was a teacher and coach for the Allentown School District from 1958 until retiring in 1995.
He was a 1958 graduate of Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in education. While teaching, he completed courses for a master's degree equivalency.
In 1960, a coaching position was created in the school district for an assistant football coach, wrestling coach and track coach. He was appointed to the position, coached all three sports for 20 years and wrestling and track for 33 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly and her husband Keith B. Houser, of Nazareth; son, Dr. Michael, of Reno, Nev. and grandchildren, Kiel Houser, Quinn and Kyra.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 20 at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. June 20 at the funeral home.
