John M. Kalamar, 86, of Slatington, died peacefully April 13, 2015, in his home. He was the husband of the late Caroline (Almer) Kalamar.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Fannie (Pondelek) Kalamar.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He was a computer operations manager for 29 years, retiring in 1983. He was a Catholic.

He is survived by a son, John and his wife Lee Centorino of Whitehall Station, N.J.; daughters, Joanne and her husband Robert Kasper of Whitehall, Mary Frances and her husband Joseph Schmidt of Whitehall; brother, Joseph of Whitehall; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Michael; grandson, Michael and sisters, Helen Stubits and Eleanor Haupt.
