New Life Lutheran Church, 6804 Weiss Road, New Tripoli, is having a basket social and flea market 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 30 to benefit the families of Csala Beers and Adam Recke.
Beers was paralyzed in an auto accident earlier this year on the same street where her husband was paralyzed in an accident 12 years ago.
Together, they face mounting medical bills and necessary modifications to their North Whitehall home to accommodate two wheelchairs.
Recke is a 15-year-old Bethlehem student who suffers from Niemann-Pick Disease Type C, also known as childhood Alzheimer's disease.
Experimental treatments are currently uninsured.
Food, beverages and baked goods will be available throughout the event.
Basket drawing begins 2 p.m.
