Marcia Shanton Jones, 80, of Allentown, died May 24, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of William T. Jones for 58 years. She was the daughter of the late Franklin and Helen (Keglovitz) Shanton.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School and West Chester College. She enjoyed teaching for 34 years as an elementary school teacher in the Allentown School District, retiring in 1992. During those years she served as principal's aide at the former Wilson School and received the Valley Forge Teachers Medal Award. In retirement she remained active in the Retired Teachers Association and served as a volunteer at the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank. She routinely served as a volunteer for local political campaigns.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband, golf, the theatre, the ladies in the Red Hat Society and spending time with her family.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Gwen and her husband Jeffrey Wetzel, of Bel Air, Md. and son, Christopher and his wife Eileen, of Johns Creek, Ga.; three grandchildren, Joshua Wetzel, William Jones and Clare Jones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. May 27 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. Call 9 to 10 a.m. May 27 in the church. Arrangements were made by the Robert C. Weir Funeral Home, Allentown.
