Services held

throughout area

Memorial Day services will be held May 24 and May 25 at locations throughout Northampton Borough and surrounding areas.

On Sunday, May 24, "M" Company, Sons of Union Veterans Reserve of the Civil War will participate in a service at 8:15 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Cherryville Road, Northampton; at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Seemsville; at 10:40 a.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmanuelsville; at 11 a.m. at Christ UCC, Little Moore; at noon at Horner's Cemetery on the Northampton-Bath Highway; and at 2 p.m. at Zion Stone UCC, Kreidersville.

The Coplay American Legion Post 426 will hold a service at 1:45 p.m. at 134 S. Second St.

A program at Hokendauqua American Legion Post 739 will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the triangle at Third and South streets.

On Monday, May 25, the Sons of Union Veterans will participate in a service at 8:15 a.m. at the Grand Army of the Republic memorial plot at Lincoln and Dewey avenues, Northampton; at 8:45 a.m. at Allen Union Cemetery, Fourth and Main streets, Northampton; at 9:45 a.m., at St. John's UCC, Howertown; and at 11 a.m. at the Siegfried memorial plot on West 21st Street, Northampton.

The Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293 will begin its services at 9 a.m. at the memorial marker along Route 329 in Cementon. From there, it will proceed to the triangle on South Church Street, by about 9:30 a.m., and then to the post home, 5209 Spring Mill Road, for a program that will begin at 11 a.m.

Fullerton American Legion Post 367, 609 Fullerton Ave., will hold a service at 10 a.m.

Northampton Joint Veterans Association will hold a program at 11 a.m. at the veterans plaza, 14th Street and Dewey Avenue, Northampton. American Legion Post 353, Catholic War Veterans Post 454 and VFW Post 4714 will participate.

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 will begin services at the Fairview Cemetery at 10 a.m., then continue to the post home, 330 Second St.
