Joan M. Besley, 70, of North-ampton, died May 13, 2015, at home. Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late Farrest and Theresa (Ressler) Marushak. She was the wife of Gregory Besley for 28 years.

She was a graduate of Whitehall High School and of CTI Airline Training, Hartford, Conn.

She worked for the former National Airlines in New York. She then managed a graphic design business in New Jersey. She retired in 2001.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her stepmother, Patricia Marushak; a son, Anthony Trombino and his fiancee, Jodi, of Florence, N.J.; a daughter, Annette and her husband, Steven Swan, of Annandale, N.J.; two brothers, James and his wife, Brenda Marushak, of Northampton and Neil and his wife, Donna Marushak, of Slatington; two sisters, Carol and her husband, Dennis Makovsky, of Whitehall and Kathy and her husband, Jeff Gerhard, of Whitehall; two grandchildren, Maggie and Abby; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Judy Marushak.
