Dale R. Biery

Dale R. Biery, 76, of Cementon, died May 16, 2015, at home. Born in Allen Township, he was a son of the late George J. and Clara M. (Lerch) Biery.

He attended Northampton High School.

He was in the United States Navy.

He as a pipe fitter for 21 years for Martin Marietta Cement Company, Northampton, before he retired in 1983. He later was a truck driver for various companies.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Northampton, where he was a former deacon and choir member.

He was a member and former president of the United Cement, Lime and Gypsum Workers International Union, Local 26. He was a Northampton Borough councilman from 1986 to 1993. He was on the board of directors of Northampton Borough Water Authority from 1989 to 1992. He was a member and former president of Lappawinzo Fish & Game, Northampton. He was a member of the Point Phillips and Petersville Rod & Gun Clubs. He was a life member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, the Raccoon Club, Allen Township, Alliance and First Ward Fire Companies, the Northampton and Egypt VFW and Northampton American Legion Post 353. A motorcyclist, he was a member of the Lehigh Valley HOG Chapter 4497.

He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Barbara A. (Haydt) Kibler, with whom he resided; two sons, Richard A. of Moore Township and Brian K. of Bethlehem Township; four grandchildren, Devin, Brandon, Natalie and Cameron; two sisters, Corinne and her husband, Bernie New-hard, of Jim Thorpe and Ann and her husband, Bob Robinson, of Fort Worth,Texas; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son, David Lee; three brothers, Franklin, Donald and Bruce Biery; and a sister, Lucille Longenbach.

There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., both on May 23 at the funeral home, 2165 Community Drive, Moorestown (Bath).

Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans-Lehigh Valley Chapter 7, 202 Stephanie Drive, Easton, 18045.
