Pauline E. Moser

Pauline E. (Harman) Moser, 89, of Fountain Hill, died peacefully in her sleep May 9, 2015. She was the wife of the late Paul Moser. Born in Parnell, Mo., she was a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Berg) Harman.

She attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., graduating with a degree in education.

She enjoyed dancing and singing and performed for the troops stationed at Leavenworth, Kan., during World War II. She began her teaching career in Kansas City, Mo., where she met and married her husband in 1948. The couple moved to Fountain Hill in 1951.

She was the Director of the Playground for 20 years and was an active member of St. Ursula's Church. She taught in the Salisbury Township and Bethlehem Area school districts for over 30 years, semi-retiring to a part-time position with the Bethlehem Public Library, and fully retiring at 80 years of age to spend more time with her husband and family. Upon retiring, she volunteered as a library aide in the Bethlehem Area School district, particularly Spring Garden Elementary School, as well as the public library.

She received the Bethlehem Area Teacher's Volunteer Award for her service. The borough of Fountain Hill honored her by planting trees in her name at the Arbor Day celebration in 2011. She was also the guest of honor at the Fountain Hill playground fundraiser last month.

She is survived by a son, Jeffery and his wife Connie; daughter, Rebecca and her husband Joseph Piltman; daughter, Lou Ann and her husband Paul Suborits; son, Gregory and his wife Suzan; daughter, Michele and her husband William Deegan; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by the Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
