3 candidates vie for 2 Lehigh Twp. supervisor spots
Three Republicans are seeking two open positions on the Lehigh Township Board of Supervisors. The term is six years.
The candidates, Keith Hantz, Richard Hildebrand Jr. and Kenneth Mack, responded to the following question posed by The Press:
What makes you uniquely qualified for this position?
Keith Hantz
I have lived in Lehigh Township my whole life. I have been a township supervisor for 13 years. While in my years as supervisor, I have worked hard at protecting township landowners' rights. I have supported our township police department, volunteer fire company, public works department and township athletic association.
I believe in using tax dollars wisely, without cutting services to our township residents.
In my years as a supervisor, I have not had, and do not have, any special agendas. I try to do what is right for all township residents.
Richard
Hildebrand Jr.
I lived in Lehigh Township for the past 38 years and have been involved in the community as a firefighter/EMT for the past 33 years.
I have worked with the board of supervisors and other departments of Lehigh Township for the last eight years as fire chief.
I hold several national professional certifications in firefighting, as well as certifications in emergency management, hazardous materials and emergency medical services.
For the last eight years, I have attended almost all supervisor meetings and stay in touch with the community.
I have applied for, received and managed grants from the state and federal governments to provide firefighting equipment and services for our community.
I have worked two federally declared disasters in our community and have recovered costs from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and FEMA for those disasters.
I would like to strengthen and continue to provide for the health, welfare and safety of our fellow residents and visitors to Lehigh Township, improve our infrastructure and use a commonsense approach to growth and development of our community and to seek more commercial interests to help offset the burden to the homeowner.
Kenneth Mack
As a citizen who was born and raised in Lehigh Township, my focus as a supervisor would be to maintain the integrity and give back to our community for the future of our families and their futures as well.
