Dennis D. Hinkle, 69, of Salisbury Township, died May 8, 2015, in the VNA Hospice of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Schoenberger) Hinkle. The couple would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this June. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Arthur J., Sr. and Frances L. (Miller) Hinkle.
He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Allentown.
He was an equipment operator for Salisbury Township for 24 years, retiring in 2004. Prior to that he was an assistant furniture finisher for the former Jackson Allen Upholstery of Catasauqua for 16 years.
He was a life member of the Salisbury Fire Company #1 and a volunteer firefighter for many years.
He was a lieutenant with the former Salisbury Ambulance Corps for several years. He volunteered with the former Cub Pack 120 at St. Mark's Church.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Wendy and her husband Daniel Bellesfield, of Topton; son, Eric, of Allentown and a sister, Donna D. and her husband Barry Kram, of Pocono Lake.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, 18015 or to the charity of one's choice.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. May 13 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A calling hour will be held 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
