Beulah (Batman) Miller
Beulah (Batman) MIller, of Zionsville, died April 29, 2015. Born in Rittersville, she was the daughter of Joseph W. Batman and Elsie May (Kulp) Batman.
She loved many crafts and taught a junior class at Salem United Methodist Church for 35 years while also helping with Bible school. She enjoyed children of all ages including her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and, recently, a fifth generation with two great-great-granchildren.
She worked over 50 years sewing; 10 years in a vest factory and 40 years in Pennsburg Clothing on trousers.
She is known for major projects such as sewing bicentennial outfits, floats and even crafting a large Liberty Bell and bunting for the floats.
She work on a special quilt, presented to Rev. R.E. Stauffer for his retirement. Ladies of the church sewed and quilted it.
She also wrote and drew pictures about "Life on the Farm."
She is survived by a daughter, Pauline Fritz and a son, Willard and his wife, Nancy; seven grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Debbie, Terry, David and his wife, Marsha, and Susan and her husband, Peter Skrapits, Diane and her husband, Carl Simmons, Dale and his wife, Lyn, Scott and his wife, Tina; seven great-grandchildren, Stacy, Kyle, Jessica, Andrew, Jennifer, Abigail and Brielle; two great-great-grandchildren, Lilianna and Avery; two sisters, Althea Derr and Pearl Wenner; brother, Paul. She was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy Virginia, Harold, Harvey and Earl.
