James R. Newhart, 68, of Allentown, died April 10, 2015, at ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Cecilia Newhart.

Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Earl Newhart Sr. and the late Geraldine (Peters) Newhart.

He is survived by a son, Russell; a longtime girlfriend, Robin Staples; a brother, Earl T. Jr. and his wife Diane Newhart of Catasauqua; and two sisters, Cheryl Dreher of Allentown and Audrey M. Druckenmiller of Whitehall.

He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Newhart.
