Area student on dean's list
Finn Barrett, of Northampton, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester at Washington and Lee University.
In order to be named to the dean's list, students must have a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Local students on dean's list
Alec Dougherty, of Coplay, was named to the dean's list at Coastal Carolina University for the fall 2014 semester.
Dougherty is a sophomore majoring in recreation and sport management.
Kaitlyn Hanzl, of Whitehall, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester. Hanzl is a senior majoring in philosophy.

Local residents on dean's list
Several local students were named to the dean's list at the University of Scranton. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better.
The students are Jonathan Nicklas, Kaitlyn Kuntzman and Katherine Twigg, all of Northampton; and AnnMarie Marzen and Elizabeth Reese, both of Whitehall.

Local competes
Edward Cadman, of Whitehall, competed as a member of the Crusaders' men's cross country team for the fall 2014 season.
He is a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School and an accounting major at the university.

Connor Bydlon, Taylor Feher and Luke Szewczak, all of Whitehall, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester.
Samantha Upton, of Coplay, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester.

Coplay resident on honor list
Matthew Giacobbe, of Coplay, was named to the honor list for the fall 2014 semester.
To be named to the honor list, students must have a GPA of 3.2 or above.

Local cheers in championship
Chloe Musselman, of Whitehall, cheered with the Wilkes University cheerleaders to a top 10 finish in the Open All Girl division at the Universal Cheerleaders Association's College Cheerleading National Championship.

Sierra Dorschutz, of Coplay, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester.
Dorschutz is a fourth-year student in the film and animation program.

Felicia Lynch, of Whitehall, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2014 semester.
To qualify for dean's list students must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE
Bath resident earns honors
Madison McCall, of Bath, earned the Emergent Scholar honors for 2015.
Students must have at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA at the end of their first three semesters to attain the honor.
McCall is a business major that works with her mentor Dr. Oya Ozkanca.
GOODWIN COLLEGE
Sikora named to dean's list
Catherine Sikora, of Northampton, was named to the dean's list at Goodwin College.
Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be named to the dean's list.
BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Kranich makes dean's list
William F. Kranich Jr., of Whitehall, has been named to the dean's list at Boston University for the fall semester.
Students must attain a GPA of 3.5 or higher or be in the top 30 percent of their class, as well as maintain a full course load as a full-time student.
Washington College
O'Connell earns Phi Beta Kappa
Jacqueline O'Connell, of Northampton, has been inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
O'Connell is majoring in biology on the pre-medical track.
ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY
Storm presents at conference
Nearly a dozen Alvernia students, including Communication and History major Macy Storm, of Bath, presented papers, panels and creative work at the Sigma Tau Delta conference in Albuquerque, N.M., in March. The International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta has more than 870 active chapters across the globe.
Alvernia students Jamie Cappiello, Ryan Cupo, Andrew Kaucher and Peter MacNamee presented a roundtable titled "Alcoholism & Authorship: Inebriation & Inspiration," moderated by alumna Megan McCue. Storm also participated in this roundtable as a junior member of Sigma Tau Delta.
WIDENER UNIVERSITY
Stewart earns service award
Morgan Stewart, of Whitehall, recently received the Beta Alpha Psi Award for Outstanding Service, presented by the university's school of business administration.
Stewart received the award at the school's annual banquet held March 26 at Harrah's Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack.
Stewart is a senior accounting major.
