The days are numbered for motorists to park on stretches of Bullshead and Willowbrook roads to watch soccer games and other athletic events on the grounds of Catasauqua High School.

The Allen Township Board of Supervisors at its April 16 meeting instructed Solicitor B. Lincoln Treadwell to prepare an ordinance that the supervisors will then vote on.

Treadwell said the ordinance will seek to ban vehicle parking on Bullshead and Willowbrook roads.

Those motorists in violation will be ticketed.

Treadwell said the fine will be $15 if paid timely, rising to as much as $50 if paid late.

Since the township does not have either a part-time or full-time police department, township Manager Ilene Eckhart said state police will likely regulate the area.

The township is creating bicycle lanes, marked and signed, in these sections of the roads.

Officials say the high school has ample vehicle parking on its campus.
