Margaret Werley, of Emmaus, died April 14, 2015, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Edwin Werley for 59 years until his death on Nov. 1, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Peitro) Nicotera of Jacksonville.
She was the founder/ owner of Werley Day Care Schools in Allentown which she directed for 55 years. She loved the children in her care. An untiring, generous and loving caregiver to her husband, family, friends and her Bichon Frise dogs Benji and Bijot, she was a great cook and baker who enjoyed entertaining family and decorating the family home especially for the holidays. Her home was always filled with music, Italian opera and pop singers played loud. She was an avid golfer, and antiques collector, who enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by sons, Michael and his wife Judith, of Fredericksburg, Va., Anthony and his wife Elizabeth, of Westport, Conn. and JScott and his wife Patricia, of Wilmington, Del.; sisters, Josephine and her husband Bino DiNino, of Allentown and Dolores Stranzl, of Emmaus; grandchildren, Alexandra, Katelyn, Amanda and JBrandon and his wife Dakotah. She was predeceased by a brother Anthony.
Arrangements were made by the Robert C. Weir Funeral Home, Allentown.
