Claire D. Shelly, 81, of Zionsville, died peacefully surrounded by her family April 16, 2015. She was the wife of the late J. Howard Shelly. Born in Hosensack, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Eschbach) Miller.
Early in life, she worked for Harleysville Insurance Company and then worked with her husband on their farm.
She was a lifelong member of Hosensack Evangelical Congregational Church, where she played the piano for many years.
She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking (especially soups) and was very devoted to her faith and family.
She is survived by children, Jonathan and his wife Terry, of East Greenville, Timothy and his wife Brenda, of Palm, Carol and her husband Carl Tankred of Palm, Sally and her husband Jeffrey Tankred, of Zionsville and Lois, of Boyertown; grandchildren, Katie, Jeffrey, Samantha, James, Tyler and Matthew; brother, Eugene and his wife Elsie, of Red Hill. She was predeceased by sisters, Elva Schultz and Dorothy Miller.

Services will be held 11 a.m. April 23 in Hosensack Evangelical Congregational Church, 7663 Buhman Rd., Zionsville, 18092. Viewing 6 to 8 p.m. April 22 at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Pennsburg and 10 to 11 a.m. April 23 in the church.
