Russell M. Allen, 83, of Macungie, died April 11, 2015. He was the husband of the late Evelyn T. Allen, who died in August of 2011.

Born in Chicago, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from 1950 to 1954. After his military service, he served as a project engineer overseas on large government projects in South America, Hawaii and the South Pacific. He eventually hired on at PPL as superintendent - general office complex. He retired from PPL in 1988. He was an active member of the International Facility Management Association. He served as national vice president in 1982 and was awarded "Facility Manager of the Year" in 1988.

He was active in Scouting for many years. He volunteered his talents for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation, Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County and Millbrook Chase.

He was an accomplished woodworker and his family will long treasure his cedar chests, clocks and numerous carvings.

He is survived by sons, Darwin, Douglas, David and Donald; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Jayne Parsley and Jill Denke.

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. April 17 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, 17th and Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A gathering will take place 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
