Rick C. Walters

Dr. Rick C. Walters, 56, of New Tripoli, died March 26, 2015, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

He and his wife Lynne K. (Blose) Walters were married 13 years last March 8.

Born Dec. 31, 1958, in Muncy, Lycoming County, he was the son of Ted and Shirley (Heddings) Walters of Muncy.

A 1990 graduate of Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Philadelphia, he owned and operated Walters Optometric Center, Palmerton, for the last 20 years.

A member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, he was past president of the Whitehall Lions Club and life member of the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli.

He formerly served on the executive committee of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

He was an avid fly fisherman and Mets fan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughters, Savannah L. Gibson and Kacie L. Walters, both at home; sister Cameron Myers and her husband, John, of Hughesville; father- and mother-in-law, Roy and Kathi (Mengel) Blose of Hummelstown; nephews Zachary and Kyle Poust, Matthew and Daulton Myers; and niece Ashley Visscher.
