Clarence J. Koch, 99, died peacefully March 25, 2015, in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Mary Koch. They were married for 65 years. He lived in Whitehall for more than 50 years and grew up in White Haven, and lived in a house he built himself in Ashley before moving to Whitehall.
He worked as an engineer on the Lehigh Valley/Bethlehem Railroad until retiring. He loved to share stories of the olden days when he could fix anything and nothing was ever thrown away.
He is survived by a daughter, Marianne and her husband, Joseph Stretanski of Stamford, Conn.; son, Charles and his wife, Donnice of Overland Park, Kan.; and by five grandchildren, Linda and her husband, Mark Peters of Flemington, N.J.; Christopher Koch and his wife, Julie of Newberg, Ore.; David Stretanski of Redbank, N.J.; Eric Koch of Overland Park, Kan.; and Mary and her husband Chris Frangus of Monroe, Conn; 10 great-grandchildren, Connor, Ryan, MaryKate, Joshua, Kyler, CJ, McKenzie, Daniel, Casey and Peter.
Arrangements were made by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Whitehall.
