Irene M. Kovalcik, 83, of Whitehall and formerly of Schnecksville, died March 13, 2015 at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Cyril M. Kovalcik.

Born in Whitehall-Cementon, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Turbedsky) Petro.

She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Allentown.

She worked for 41 years, and retired in 1993 as the supervisor of operating room procedures at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown.

She was a member of Asssumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, Northampton.

She was a member of the nursing association A.O.R.N.

She is survived by a daughter; Donna M. and her husband Miles Odenwelder of Bushkill Township; a sister, Maureen A. Petro of Whitehall; two granddaughters; Kelly L. and her husband Thomas Repasch Jr. of Schnecksville and Kimberly I. Odenwelder of Bushkill Township; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Weber.
