Coplay Column
The Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association will hold its community children's Easter egg hunt this Saturday, 1 p.m., on the grounds of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Fifth Street.
The rain date is Monday, April 6.
Children are in for a double treat. They will hunt for and collect 1,200 colorful plastic eggs filled with jelly beans. Also, Roger Rabbit will also greet the children. Pictures will be available.
The siren of a borough police vehicle will mark the start of the egg hunt, with prize eggs in each age group.
All children will receive a special treat after the egg hunt.
In its 60-plus years, the egg hunt has only been postponed a few times. For instance, it was postponed in the 1970s due to a major snowfall.
