Billy Bachiashvili, an eighth-grade Northampton Area Middle School student, has qualified to compete at the state level of the national geography bee. Sponsored by National Geographic, the state competition will be held Friday, March 27 at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg.. Participants at the state competition must be in grades 4 through 8 and must have won the contest at the building level. One winner from each state will advance to the national competition, which will be held May 11-13 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.
