Calendar revised

Schools will now be open for snow make-up days April 2 and 6 and June 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 for grades kindergarten through 11.

The following days will now be full days of school for all students: May 27, 28 and 29 and June 1 through 3.

The following days will be early dismissal days: June 4, 5, 8 and 9.

The third marking period will end April 2. The first day of the fourth marking period is April 6.

The high school graduation ceremony will still take place Saturday, June 6 at 4 p.m. at Lehigh University's Stabler Arena.

An in-service records day will be held June 10 for staff members. There is no school for students on this day.

Should there be additional inclement weather days in the future, a revised calendar will be posted.

An oldies dance to benefit Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Education Foundation will be held April 11 at the Northampton Memorial Community Center. The cost of a ticket includes live music from Desire, an oldies doo-wop group, a hot buffet and beverages. You must be 21 years old to attend. Spring picture day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 for students at Siegfried Elementary. All students will have their picture taken, but purchasing is optional.

The Angel 34 and Konkrete Kids Education Foundation will be having a spring fling Friday, March 20. The event will be held at the Northampton Area Middle School gymnasium. There are many fun activities planned. Bring the family out for some fun from 6 to 9 p.m.

Kindergarten registration has been extended online. Parents can visit the Northampton Area School District's website at http://www.northampton.k12.pa.us.

Northampton Area High School's school store, Konkrete Korner, now has online purchasing. This website allows the community to have access to the school store's latest merchandise without having to visit the store during its hours of operation. While the merchandise was previously displayed on the Konkrete Korner's website, it now includes online purchasing capability.

Camp Invention is coming to the district this summer.

The camp is a four-day summer enrichment program that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities through inquiry-based, hands-on activities.

The program is available to district students in fourth through sixth grades.

The Konkrete Kids Education Foundation's Buy a Brick fundraiser is under way.

Visit the school's website to find out how you may support the foundation by having your name engraved on a brick paver.

The pavers will be placed in the plaza outside the entrance of Al Erdosy Stadium and the new swimming pool adjacent to the high school's rear parking lot.
