Virginia C. Short, 90, formerly of Whitehall, died Feb. 11, 2015, in her home at Moravian Hall Square. She was the wife of the late James Curtis Short.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., she was the daughter of the late George and Ruby Rippel.

She was a member of and a volunteer with Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown.

She was a member of the Allentown Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She was known as the trivia queen at Moravian Hall Square. She was a volunteer with the Blind Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia and her husband William Geist of Danielsville; a son, Robert C. and his wife Davina Short; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Barry Lee Short; and a brother, William.
