Elda S. J. Miller, 88, of Allentown and formerly of Pennsville, died Feb. 5, 2015, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Clarence W. Miller.
Born in Pennsville, she was a daughter of the late Amandes and Sarah (Newhard) Jacoby.
She was a self-employed beautician. She owned and operated Modernelle Beauty Shop, Pennsville, for more than 10 years. Prior to that, she waitressed at the former Indian Trail Park Diner for several years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Cherryville, and a former member of Zion Stone Church, Kreidersvile; she was a Sunday school teacher at both churches.
She was a member of the Harmony Grange, Pennsville, and the Lehigh Township Historical Society. She assisted with 4-H. She delivered Meals on Wheels to Northampton County residents.
She is survived by three sons, Barry C. and his wife Tina Marie of Northampton, Dale S. of Danielsville and Gene W. of Cherryville; a daughter, LaRue and her husband Donald DeCray of Allentown; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Edgar and Howard; and a sister, Arlene Minnich.
