David J. Dougherty, 56, of Northampton, died Feb. 3, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Lisa A. Avate.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert Sr. and Marlene (Laudenslager) Dougherty of Breinigsville.

He was a plasterer for Duggan & Marcon, Local 592, for 10 years before he retired in 2009. He worked for Hafner and Sons for 15 years.

He was a member of the former Sue's Place Dart Team for years. He was a member of the Alliance Fire Company and Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, both of Northampton.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Cheyenne L. of Northampton; a brother, Robert E. Dougherty Jr. Northampton; stepmother, Donna Dougherty of Whitehall; stepbrother, Bill Dougherty of Bethlehem; a nephew, Robert E. III and his wife Karrie Dougherty; and a great-nephew, Garret.
