William J. Sywensky, 66, of North Catasauqua, died Jan. 19, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Gerda Sywensky for 46 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late William and Anna T. (Steier) Sywensky.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He worked at the Bethlehem Steel for 30 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Melissa of Wescosville and William and his wife Ann of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Katie, Drew, Ally and Ryan; four sisters, Anna and her husband Wayne Eichelberger and Joan Sywensky, all of Northampton; Catherine Holderman of Whitehall and Michele Sywensky of Bethlehem; four brothers, John and his wife Carol of Northampton, Joseph of Parryville, Gerard and his wife Lisa of Kreidersville and Michael and his wife Theresa of Cherryville; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Rita Green; and a brother, Richard Sywensky.
