Patricia Hodges

Patricia D. Hodges, 91, of Whitehall and formerly of Egypt, died Jan. 16, 2015, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Virgil "Larry" Hodges.

Born in Bethlehem, she was daughter of the late James J. and Mary G. (Brady) Deegan.

She was a 1947 graduate of Sacred Heart Nursing School.

She was a registered nurse and worked in veteran administration hospitals, the Coco Solo Hospital in the Panama Canal Zone and at local hospitals.

She was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church, Allentown.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a past president of the diocesan Blue Army and Our Lady of Fatima. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital and Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, Washington, N.J. She sang with the diocesan choir and the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena choir.

She is survived by a son, John and his wife Betty of Slatington; a daughter, Patricia M. Cullen of Coopersburg; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary K. Deegan and Therese Cappellini; and two brothers, Richard F. and James Deegan.
