·Feb. 23-27: World Language Week at Parkland High School. Celebrating global awareness and diversity, all World Language teachers, language clubs and students will celebrate their heritage and acquire international awareness and cultural understanding.

Activities include: International Cake-Off, cake decorating contest (7 p.m. Feb. 23), Community Service Project (Feb. 24 after school), Book Fair (Feb. 25), club dinners (Feb. 26) and a guest performance from a sign language performing group from Bloomsburg University (Feb. 27).

·Feb. 25: World Language Department Book Fair at Promenade Shops, Barnes and Noble, 6-8 p.m. Students from all the languages will be reading stories in their language (with translation) and there will be specialty drinks available at the Barnes and Noble Cafe.

All purchases made at the book fair will have 10 percent donated to the World Language department.
