Congratulations to all students who participated in Lehigh County Chorus this past weekend!

Congratulations also to the students who took part in the Model UN event in Baltimore, Md. this past weekend. Fourteen students went to the event and Casey Laudadio won the distinction of best delegate for her role as N. D. Kahn of Pakistan in a crisis committee. Great job.

The Salisbury High School boys varsity basketball team play Wilson Area School District away at Catasauqua 7:30 p.m. tonight for the Colonial League Semifinals. Try to come out and support the boys.

There is a snow makeup day for the district Feb. 13. All students report to school at the regular time.

There is no school Feb. 16 for the Presidents Day holiday.

The Class of 2017 is selling Dan Schantz monthly madness cards. The purchase of the card entitles the card owner to a free item from Dan Schantz Greenhouse each month for a year. There are also four other reusable coupons on the card. If a month is missed, simply ask if the item is available the following month, or go back next year to redeem your item. Physicals for the spring athletics season are Feb. 21. There is a cost. Spring physical paperwork and recertification paperwork for spring athletes and team managers are available at Salisbury Middle School and SHS. In order to play a spring sport, students must have a physical dated on or after May 31, 2014.

Mid-marking period for the third quarter is Feb. 23.

Salisbury High School Theatre presents "Pippin" 7 p.m. March 5 to 7 and 3 p.m. March 8. Tickets may be purchased from cast members, by emailing salisburytheatresalisburysd.org or by calling Jeannie Zettlemoyer at 610-797-4107, ext. 2508.

Two college fairs are scheduled in the area.

Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling is hosting the DeSales Regional College Fair 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 5 in Billera Hall. Meet with admissions counselors from more than 100 colleges and universities. Visit www. desales.edu/pacac for a current list of colleges and universities attending the event.

The Emmaus High School College Fair will be held in the Emmaus High School gym 6 to 8 p.m. April 30. Over 100 representatives from colleges, technical schools and the military branches will be available. For questions or more information, call 610-965-1660.

Academically talented sophomores or juniors are invited to apply to the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy which will be held June 28 to July 25. The application deadline is Feb. 16. Applicants are asked to demonstrate academic achievement, especially in the sciences, and interest or potential in health care and a record of leadership and service activities. Tuition, room, board, instructional materials and curriculum related social activities are included in the program fee. Families are responsible for students' transportation to and from the program, money for personal needs, library fines and any damage to the dorm or facilities. Academically talented high school students who are current sophomores or juniors are invited to apply to the Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University which will be held July 5 to Aug. 1. The application deadline is Feb. 16. Applicants are asked to demonstrate academic achievement, an interest in business, international relations or economic development and a record of leadership and service activities. Tuition, room, board, instructional materials, project transportation, field trips to New York and Harrisburg and curriculum related social activities are included in the program fee.
